Casella di testo: The Workshops
During the workshops, from February to July, students work on different areas of project in collaboration with car designers and/or international automotive companies. Every workshop includes theoretical classes (cultural, methodological and technical) and a design project developed under the guidance of a project leader..
Final Master Thesis:
The students work on a project that gathers all the competences treated during the year, starting from a global vision and getting to the design of a detail; the students will be asked to develop a project keeping a high level of research in all its steps.
The Objective:
The Master investigates the functional relation between mobility and territory, facing the complex development of the vehicle according to emerging needs. The new means of transportation are built respecting
ergonomics, safety, environmental impact, but also aesthetics.
The Audience
The course addresses graduates and undergraduates coming from specialised schools, or young designers and professionals working in the design field.
The Future
Participants will become professionals in the automotive sector, acquiring different and multiple skills. The technical and managerial competences achieved during the course will allow the students to gain a global vision of the automotive sector and to successfully deal with the players involved in the production process.

Master Degree Course in Car Design, Mobility and Automotive

This Master arises from the awareness that today the design world needs more complex design solutions, able to integrate different disciplines and particular research perspectives, in order to properly answer to the current vision of the global and delocalized production world.
Designing, producing, promoting and marketing a product or a service in the post-industrial society of information, requires designers with very specific skills, able to dialogue with different players and to handle the market following non-conventional rules.

The Course:

The scenario is changing: the problems related to mobility traffic, pollution, safety- can't be considered separate to the world of Design. The vision of a car as an object of desire, representing a lifestyle, a concentration of performance and beauty, is naive, and the concept of transportation has remarkably evolved over the last years. Many means of transportation (collective vehicles, motorbikes, entertainment vehicles, sailing...) have reached a mature phase as far as design is concerned and offer interesting development margins.

This Master course in Car Design and Mobility, is part of the design logic of an increasingly functional relation between mobility and territory, facing the complex development of the vehicle according to principles completely different from the past and expressing new needs: the new means of transportation are built respecting ergonomics, safety, without forgetting the environmental impact, but also aesthetics.

*AUDI will support the 2008 edition of the Master in Car Design and Mobility with its technical and design consultancy.
*AUDI will launch a project theme which will be developed during the academic year and, through a committed team, will follow the workshop activity and the final Master projects.

The Master's Director will be Marco Bonetto and the Scientific Director Gino Finizio. The German Car Company reserves the right to offer some stage opportunities in its Design Center to the best Master's students.
