PRESENTATION OF COURSE DESIGN OF WORK SPACES
An interior of any kind, whether domestic (the home) or public (a museum,
hospital, service sector office, airport, station), ermanent or temporary
(as exhibitions in general) is a complex aggregate of elements that form
the quality of the relations between individuals and the space they live
in: dimension of the spaces, furniture, lights, colours, sounds, even
olfactory sensations, represent the elements an interior designer must be
able to monitor and coordinate. In this case design means assuming the
architectural shell as a starting point and work inside it by planning, not
only working on the furniture system but on any element that contributes to
make the space inhabitable.
Interiors as relational spaces, designed to organize all of our human
activities.
Environments which are embedded in the communication system and involve
individuals and groups on a physical, emotional, social level.
Interiors are one of the areas of design which is undergoing the fastest
transformation.
Today interior design includes and goes far beyond the traditional
definition of the intimate components of architecture. An evolution which
is changing both professional practices and careers
